FRAME OF MIND
This Froday was spent with Frena in Starbucks editing Happy Froday New York.
Amongst the cookies and caramel frappe's,
We found ourselves speaking upon something which relates to a situation I am currently in; my dreams.
I am always telling people to work hard for your goals as you do not know where they will take you.
I dreamt endlessly about bringing women together but I was always afraid of what other people would think.
The day I did it without worrying about what anyone had to say was the day I came out of my comfort zone.

I'm stuck in a situation of following my dreams or being practical and realistic.
I learnt a long time ago to never try to plan anything because nothing goes to plan.
But this plan of finding a job, getting married and having kids which is always being recited to me isn't my plan.
I know I want to travel the world, meet new people and spread the love of Happy Froday.
I may not know how I will get there but as long as I am passionate, only positive can come out of that.
Frena recommended reading this article on EliteDaily about a man who wasted his life working nine to five.
He had dreams, just like you and I. But he put them aside to do what was practical and now he regrets it.
I know that life will not always be rosy but everything you do is a lesson allowing you to grow.

Another person who decided to follow their dreams was the lady who captured my 'fro and I this weekend.
After a year of studying photography Melissa realised her passion didn't need a certificate.
Despite the people around her not being as understanding,
She still continued and now her passion is being recognised.
On our strolls through beautiful parks we spoke on our dreams and I thought I'd share her perspective.
What inspired you to begin photography?
Getting a dslr for my 16th birthday really sparked my interest in photography.
I've always loved taking pictures and I had my first camera when I was 7.
Getting film developed excited me so much!
Did you have to sacrifice anything to follow your dream?
No I didn't really have to sacrifice anything but I definitely have to push myself a lot more as I'm pretty much working for myself and I've realised stuff doesn't fall in your lap. You have to go get it!
What keeps you motivated?
The little messages and emails I get from people telling me how they love my work.
Especially people wanting to work with me and write about it just keeps me motivated and positive and I tell myself I can't give up now when there are so many people behind me.
