YAKO BEAUTY: THE REVIEW
The Natural Hair Community has created so many opportunities for people to blossom and embrace who they are as well as opening a new door for people to create businesses with products and events.
I love how this movement of people embracing their natural hair has been able to influence young kids as well as an older generation of women. I didn’t know by big chopping I would eventually create my own platform which shares certain aspects of my life. I didn’t know I would get to work with so many amazing people who invest so much love and passion into creating something which they feel will be able to have a positive impact on the world.
Yako Beauty is a product which has such a meaningful ethos. They aspire to create a product which enhances what you already have by providing your hair with natural oils and moisturisers. I love products which want you to work with your own curl and texture without having to manipulate it.
I was sent these products at the beginning of Spring so it was nice to try them after doing a big clear out of many old products I had been storing on my "shelf." I say shelf but we both know it's more than one "shelf" but this isn’t about me being a product junkie!
I did a You Tube video which demonstrated how I used the products but I wanted to share a few tips which may help the way you use the product. I was advised by Rahma to use them separately when doing a Wash N’ Go however my hair is very thick so when I used just the Defining Crème, it wasn’t as moisturised but I still had definition.
So the next time I used it, I used the Smoothing Oil-In-Crème as a Leave In Conditioner to add some moisturise and smoothen my hair before scrunching the defining cream to finish. It is important to understand that although this is the method I chose, you can style with one or the other as you don’t necessarily need both products.
If your curls are a lot finer, then I’d definitely recommend using the Smoothing Oil-In-Crème, crating it through and smoothing it down on your ends then flipping your head down and scrunching. It can also be used to refresh day 2 or 3 hair. Take small sections, spritz then smooth down on your hair focusing on your ends to allow the curl to curl back up. This product contains a lot of natural oils such as Macadamia, Coconut, Olive Oils, Nettle and Horsetail Extracts.
You can also use it a styler for laying your edges or general moisturising. It's great for people who don't want to be spend a lot of money on different products but want something which has multiple uses.
If your hair is thick then the Defining Crème works wonders as it doesn’t weigh your hair down but it acts as a moisturiser and gives you hold so you can have a long lasting Wash N’ Go! It contains my favourite oil; Avocado so it was no shock that this was my favourite product between the two.
